Mystical Beauty

I got the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in softsilver rose. This is a hot pink, creme color. For some reason I thought it would go on sheerer than it did. It was a pretty dark hot pink. In all honesty, I got this at Walgreens, because it was free after rebate.

There was a limited selection of colors, so I would not have gotten this lipstick if it had not been free, because I did not think that any of the colors would look great on me. The color selection looks like it varies depending on the store. Walgreens had a lot of darker reds and burgandies, one brown, and a couple of plum colors. Eckerds seemed to have a completely different color selection, including a limited edition lipstick.

I was very impatient to try this, and after leaving Walgreens I wiped my mouth to ensure there were no traces of lipstick or chapstick, and applied the lipstick. After less than 30 minutes, I checked the mirror, and the lipstick had worn off except for a dark pink area in the center of my lips.

I will try the lipstick again with lipliner and see how it goes, but as it is, I am not impressed with this lipstick.

*Update*

I have tried this lipstick several times. It does stay on better with lipliner, and after applying it over foundation the first thing in the morning I realized that although the lipstick wore off quickly, it left a pale pink stain, which does look better than the lipstick itself did.
